Flow Forum conference accepting papers for inaugural event

Flow Control launches Flow Forum conference to facilitate industrial engineering knowledge transfer.

Flow Forum 2018BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Sept. 8, 2017 — Flow Control magazine issued a Call for Papers for its inaugural Flow Forum May 7-8, 2018, at the Westin O’Hare, Rosemont (Chicago), Illinois.

Flow Forum is a conference-driven event designed to help end users understand how they can leverage the benefits and capabilities of modern process technologies to effectively navigate the digital transformation of industry.

As industrial process manufacturers continue to lose engineering talent to retirement, and the technology employed for process efficiency grows more sophisticated, industry is faced with a challenge on two fronts:

  1. How to effectively transfer knowledge from an aging engineering workforce to a new generation of engineers and technical professionals
  2. How to effectively leverage the full capability of modern technologies for process efficiency

Flow Forum aims to help industrial process manufacturers and service providers overcome these pressing challenges. “With a tagline and mission of Insights for Process Efficiency, Flow Forum will provide a vehicle for enabling knowledge transfer to a new generation of engineers and technical professionals who are working with modern digital technologies,” said Michael Christian, group publisher for the Process Flow Network, which is comprised of Flow Control and its sister brands Processing and Water Technology.

Flow Forum 2018 will present a range of learning opportunities, including keynotes, breakout sessions and networking events. Presentations will revolve around the following core topics:

  • Flow
  • Level
  • Pressure
  • Temperature
  • Pumps, motors and drives
  • Valves and actuators
  • Digital Transformation/Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)

Flow Control is uniquely positioned to drive thought leadership and knowledge transfer among technical professionals who design, operate, automate and maintain the systems that measure and control liquids and gases in industrial processes,” said Matt Migliore, director of content strategy for the Process Flow Network. “Flow Control and flowcontrolnetwork.com have provided this thought leadership for more than 20 years, and the Flow Forum conference will enable us to facilitate a deeper level of learning among the technical professionals we serve.”

Flow Forum’s Call for Presentations is open until Nov. 1, 2017. Presentation abstracts can be submitted at flowcontrolnetwork.com/flow-forum-2018-call-for-presentations/.
